Looking for the perfect spot to take your unit or group away? Gorwelion is Girlguiding Central Glamorgan’s very own holiday house and campsite – just outside Porthcawl, only 10 minutes from the M4.
With stunning sea views and the beach just a 20-minute walk away, Gorwelion is the ideal base for girls, leaders, families and groups to enjoy time together, try new things, and make unforgettable memories.
Gorwelion is available for Girlguiding, Scouting and other recognised community organisations. Unfortunately, we’re not able to take private or individual bookings.
The main house sleeps up to 33 people, with three dormitories of eight, a leader’s room for three, and an upstairs dorm for six older girls.
The self-contained flat sleeps four and can be booked with the house or on its own – perfect for families or leaders who want their own space.
There are two campsites, both with toilet and shower blocks. The larger site has cooking equipment for up to 50 people, while the smaller site is set up for 30.
Gorwelion is a safe, welcoming place designed with guiding groups in mind, but it’s also ideal for schools, and community organisations. Set on the beautiful Welsh coast, it offers affordable accommodation and plenty of space for adventure, friendship, and fun. Whether you’re staying in the house, camping under the stars, or exploring the nearby beach, Gorwelion is a place to make memories, try new things, and enjoy time together by the sea.
Gorwelion sits in 5.5 acres of open grounds with stunning coastal views, and the sandy beach is just a short 20-minute walk away. On site you’ll find fully equipped kitchen and dining spaces, along with modern shower and toilet blocks. For campers, there are outdoor cooking areas with all the equipment you need. Whether indoors or outdoors, there’s plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the sea air.
